Depends entirely on what opportunities become available - I would LOVE to keep working in games, especially in the capacity I did on SZX, but not being someone with any programming experience firsthand makes even making a simple playable for a pitch deck difficult. I'm very reliant on folks being willing to invite me to projects or collaborate directly - I have the very earliest stages of some stuff percolating right now, and also some plans for the longterm if those don't pan out.
The reality is that SZX was an incredibly rare "dream job" kind of project, and what happens next may take a few more tries to get going.
As far as "Original concepts" goes - so much of SZX was whole cloth new stuff we did building on the first game that it feels like I had plenty of chances to flex those muscles. I'd love to work on something totally original from the ground up, but that's even less likely to happen in an industry space where even the slightest touch of existing IP is infinitely preferable to publishers over a totally untested concept. I kind of anticipate getting to do more work in the SZX vein - taking older names that have some room for growth and elaboration and getting a chance to be part of that.
If anyone has an art role on a title that's secured funding and feels like a match for me hit me up lol
