In theory it's a neat idea for Minecraft to have a bunch of spooky "WHAT WAS THAT" noises that play at random while underground. In practice, https://vanillatweaks.net/picker/resource-packs/ is my friend and the only reason I'm retaining my sanity as I work on my cute little build that just happens to be underground (because that's where I had room for it).

They are admittedly also much more aesthetic when you're playing something Minecraft-flavored, you know, a world where there's spooky monsters in the deep dark etc etc

Somewhat less appropriate in a world where the principal dangers to my person are "what if I go over a hill too fast and miss my footing? The caterpies will get to investigate my corpse before I melt into the ground and respawn, bags & exp intact, in my bedroom"
