Did you know cohost will accept .ICO files as image uploads?
The most curse'd possible use: it's the file format for Windows desktop icons. That is its only use as far as I'm aware, and also the only file format Windows desktop icons will accept.
While no art program I've heard of will save as .ico, iirc you can kludge .bmp into it via the ol' "literally just rename the pic from bibby.bmp to bibby.ico (although don't quote me on that) and for icons that contain transparency/aren't a full square, there are ten billion free converters on the web.
