Couldn't remember why I had a particular tab opened. Belatedly rolled my peepers to the subsequent tab(s). Remembered it was open to a comment thread (buried real damn deep) about executive function coaches and other "you can hire someone to help mitigate certain ADHD symptoms" Overton window-moving ideas, which I really want to finish reviewing because damn! Paydirt!!
Braincell bounced off the corner of the screensaver. Closed the tab without thinking.
...
I don't think I can hire someone for that.
OKAY. This is not a thorough review or vetting, this is a small creature holding up things you might not have heard of and naming them. Sometimes there are links to more stuff, sometimes all I have done is arm you with a search term.
- r/ADHD: "I hired a nanny for myself because ADHD is a disability and I deserve help. You do, too." Written by someone who struggles with "household chores" kinds of cleaning and daily maintenance. Includes details about the how of this down to the verbage and search terms used to find a helper on care dot com, very detailed. Interestingly, includes pricing info including comparisons to similar services & minimum wage in poster's region– I did not expect it to be so cheap.
- General search term: "executive function coaching" – this might focus on the other direction of ADHDamnit, like finances and taxes and paperwork. idk!
- Body doubling apps (to pair you with someone else who will digitally hang out on the phone while you do your stuff) are apparently a thing. The one I saw named was "FocusMate" but I have not vetted it.
