I am NOT reupping FFXIV yet, I NEED the break... but the bad game I was otherwise distracting myself with has once again interest-plateaued and there's too many looming funlines (me and @bazelgeuse-apologist skipping gayly through fields of corpses in Alliance Raids roulette) to feel like a month of Minecraft server for the friends would be good money.

...it's times like this that I start to wonder "would hosting my own server, like, physically in my room, be worth learning how to do just so I can have Minecraft multiplayer on demand?" Unfortunately I don't know shit about computer servers. Woe.

Years ago (in the distant past when stores would sometimes have large, sturdy plastic bags at checkout that they printed custom stuff on) the store in question listed off all locations on its bags, in the neighborhood of a dozen total, but it turned out that the distribution was something insane like 2-3 in my region (only one of which I knew of) and then it was like... Kansas. Texas. Texas. Texas. Oregon. Oregon. Washington. Connecticut. :eggbug-tuesday:

I'm used to chains being very local. I am also used to chains being very cosmopolitan across the entire USA. I am not used to chains managing to hit chain status but then plunking themselves down seemingly at random in a combination of places I definitely recognize as Large Cities and places I don't.

I want you to know that today I got Rabanastre in roulette on SMN and that I kept going "ah, [other alliance] has a healer down, I'll just swiftrez them, I'm not using--" And then without fail, as soon as I committed the rez, one or more of our healers would suddenly splat. This happened no fewer than four times.

The alliance was also perpetually at like 60% health, including before raidwides, and that was how I discovered that my hyper-potion stock had somehow dwindled into the single digits. :eggbug-nervous:

I very much went "man, wish Wobbles was here!" throughout LMAO.
