The aMAZEing caken hausen continues to sprawl. One of the relatively few rules I'm holding myself to is that pink layers are always ceiling and purple layers are always floor; I put a decorative purple border on the roofs for funsies/to make it look nice, but otherwise I am being very picky about this so that I can maintain the slightest semblance of sanity as I staple rooms together at random, stopped only by what will fit.
Anyways, more oceanic additions today: built the second visible room aka Short Room, expanded the room under Tall Room, got their absolutely wonderful and definitely not gratuitously confusing hallways in order, and then treated myself to some serious space: a wide single-level room to hold four "fields" (two trees, two crop TBDs) and an adjoining two-level that is mostly just walkway up top but has a nice BIG tree growing in it. (Tall Room is technically doing something similar but with not enough horizontal space so I gave up kept it simple and moved on.)
Have a map! This is just the stuff visible from the water (the field and tree rooms are a storey down) but it'sa good showcase of my room-connection principles.
While working on Short Room I gently touched a single seaweed and the hillside fell away like some kind of movie villain reveal to show me I was building directly over what we call "an OSHA violation": a ginormous surprise canyon cutting through everything I thought was solid seafloor.
...
My new plan is to make Short Room the top of an ocean floor elevator/staircase. Might as well put in a way to go down there, right?
