Having wandered the internet slightly, I want to revise my answer: the gameplay benefit to rare/ultra rare colors of dinos in Paleo Park is they increase how unhinged your dinoposting, forum questions, etc become.
- I've fallen to the allure of artificial scarcity more than once, so it's interesting to see it so frequently reversed in Paleo Park. I have more than once gasped and pointed and exclaimed "look how different it is! I want it!" But for a good chunk of my pals so far I've gone in the opposite direction and insisted on the most common options purely because I think those are the best-looking ones.
I think this is a testament to how heckin' good the dinos look.
