First: Guys With Heads update! Snagged the rare bluegreen one, which was the only rare I wasn't hot on but... he sure is a guy with an irregular head, so into the pen with him! I named him Noon in keeping with the sky/weather theme. I am percolating plans to turn this bizarre herd into a skillful team of farmhands.
Second: Treated myself to Ocean, a GORGEOUS Utahraptor (they're extremely common. this deterred me not at all) because I could very much use another Sprinter-Clearer! And immediately remembered, oops I can't just stick 'em in with the Forest birdthings since it's a Desert birdthing and I'm trying to biome my pens now. Obvious solution: acquire more Desert birdthings. And then my next jaunt to said desert gifted me not one but two adorable cool-colored chickens! It was fate! This screenshot was technically from the assessment phase ie. I had to sprint back to the farm, get the right food and poppins, change to a steed who wasn't exhauted, put Ocean away so I'd guarantee enough space and then sprint back out to do TWO befriendings but nevermind that!! Riptide and Blueberry are in a very temporary pen until Marlo shows up to sell me more gates, gazing adoringly from under the fence at their cousin Ocean's ankles.
Besides the dinos– actually I've been trying to cut back on dinos because I mentioned in my review that you need money for dinofood and farming is how you get money. While I have crafted a special survey list/route for daily patrolling I am TRYING, ATTEMPTING, ENDEAVORING to expand my crops and get a proper buy seeds→farm→sell produce for money to buy seeds loop going. This has been nudged along by two things: 1. the dread of how often and how much dinofeed I have to pick up at the store 2. Iris and company winning their battle against the farm! I cleared out all the rocks/logs/shrubs and can use my whole farm now! 🎊 It wasn't terrible before but knowing I can use all the space I want without having to wait for "later, when I can remove that blocker" has been freeing. I'm making plans.
Now I just need seeds to stop being so aggressively expensive. Granny is taking all my lunch money.
