So the other day I was doing my daily Dino Stroll and made sure to visit the pachy posse. I laughed when I got there and exclaimed on voice, "look guys, ALL of them are the same common color!" because what were the odds? Five spawns and they all pick the same 1 out of 2 common colors? (The one that matches my befriended pachy even, on the right with a saddle.)
Except one friend, peering over to look at stream, said "no, that one has a different hat."
"What?" I said.
"Yeah, on the left... no go back... yeah in the middle there. See?"
"I do not see," I admitted, but my friends are not liars and monitor color tuning is notoriously fake. So I squinted really hard, whistled it over, and put it to sleep to check. LO AND BEHOLD: it was the RARE red color, which is so incredibly similar to the COMMON red color that I could barely see it even when I stopped to look.
At one point before I picked out Cerise I was contemplating holding out for said rare-red because wao the cachet of rare instead of common, etc; in the end I dismissed this impulse by checking the wiki for pictures and deciding they looked so similar that it wasn't worth it. Having seen them in the wild, or I guess failed to see them, I am feeling like this was a good call.
Except this time in broad daylight for ideal visibility!

Wow that's still way harder to see than it needs to be.
