After a week spiritually faceplanted because the Paleo Pines update ate almost a game-month of my save file, rolling me back an amount I was NOT hot to replay,1 I have decided to cautiously dip my talons back in with a new save file.2 To make it silly my plan is to (try to) lightly jailbreak the dino progression: can't really avoid getting a rock-smasher to start, but I want to see if I can get a shrub-slasher second and put off a log-breaker until I unlock the desert. Whee!3
To start things off I present Eyribyrm (Wandering Tree). Not pictured is Swynlahz (Round Salmon), the most rotund and pink-orange Styraco ever. Yes I'm giving them Sea Wolf Roegadyn names.4
The funnier outcome of starting a new save is I've gone completely Harvest Moon on my ranch. I'm on day, idk, four? and have two fields of crops rolling, 50 plants total. It would be more but I do not have the helper-dinos to manage it. It shouldn't even be that much already, even, except that I just found out you can sit down on furniture to restore player stamina. (146 hours played btw.) So I have been STRATEGICALLY SITTING to minmax my crops. I'm normal I'm normal I'm normal
- That month included an immense amount of boring-ass grinding (cooking, hiss) I was willing to do once. Replaying to recover my precious dinosaurs isn't great but would be maybe tolerable; cooking all those goddamn pan dulce again =

- A new save file = less emotional investment if a patch obliterates it.
- The real motivation here is I never got a Stegosaurus on my original file and I want to fix that this time. Gonna get a bigfriend and give 'em ALL the pats!
- I like having a naming scheme... but I ran out of ideas.
