I'm enjoying my new Paleo Pines save so much that I'm not sad about my main file losing a month anymore, but tomato on toast, this really waylaid getting that final achievement. Like, "adventuring party trying to cross a bridge to reach the next village when the bridge suddenly breaks and they all fall into a ravine and 50% of the story is about getting back out now" kinds of Sudden Unexpected Increase In ETA.
