My second-favorite "same color" prank in Paleo Pines are the Carnotaurus who have decided to come in two purple-orange color schemes. You may look at the above picture and think, "uhh are those... NOT the same? The second one's just darker and more blue because of the rainy day lighting..." and you would almost be correct, but nay! Having now checked in person I can confirm they're not QUITE identical:

Image guide showing off the nearly identical Cloudy Sunset versus Noble dinos. The bottom ones have accent scales and a bib that is barely more berry-color than the top ones. With thanks to Skuddle for the full color comparison chart found HERE which goes out of its way to standardize lighting a bit...

Look at...Cloudy SunsetNoble

These differences do seem real. Nevertheless I squint because you get a wider color variety just by time of day/weather lighting.

USUALLY the color differences are pretty vast... "the entire dino is blue" versus "the entire dino is yellow with pink highlights" are not a struggle for those without color blindness! (Heck, I suspect even the colorblind would enjoy pretty good variety because there's a lot of variation in value too.) But a few of them were either:

  1. made by someone in Blender/etc who did not get to test in the game engine's lighting before committing
  2. made by Satan
