Once upon a time I was totally unable to do any kind of art if I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I felt like I needed the mania's insulating grip to keep me going, and feared I'd make nothing at all without it. The good news is ARTPGs totally cured me of that because I cannot possibly be arsed to 100% a full scene with multiple characters and backgrounds and shading in one go. It has cured me so thoroughly that it's hard to remember it used to be a problem, even! I can barely even remember it now except intellectually.
Unfortunately that means I get to fist-fight my numerous project management problems (please imagine la creatura with its dukes up, hopping and squeaking) but on balance despite how much this sucks, I prefer it. I am slow as hell and "motivation" is fake, but I've made things with scopes I once could not have dreamed of.
