Microraptor had four wings! The feathers on the legs were SERIOUS– I mean it, check out the holotype with all the feathers the white arrows are pointing at– and based on the features (such as asymmetrical feathers, primaries and secondaries, etc like modern birds) were fully-fledged flight feathers. There's still some debate about Microraptor's overall biomechanics and how it would have taken advantage of this: powered flying? maybe not, shoulder socket's wrong. tree-gliding? no signs it did enough climbing to have height to glide down from. But by jove it sure did have those feathers, we've got that nailed down.
