I know nobody else cares. I also understand the logistical hurdle that is trying to commit to one number when every person uses a different device with different settings so the website CSS already had to plan for six different outputs. But I still wish, with all my heart, that websites would tell you what size/dimensions a given image asset ought to be. At least narrow it down to an aspect ratio!! Give me some fucking hints so I don't have to manually flail through five uploads trying to find a result that gets neither cropped nor crunched!!
