Thinkin' about the assertion that "photography killed photorealistic painting" and how that's not 100% true. There stopped being much commerical/etc demand for it, absolutely. It's not something people get into on purpose to make a traditional career out of anymore. But as an art form it's still practiced by some artists. And if anything that's made photorealistic painting more impressive, more shocking and beautiful to encounter, because we're all aware that "you could have taken a photo instead"โ€“ to see such effort, something so difficult nevertheless achieved, is breathtaking.

Finally solved the mystery of where the weird turpentine stench in the kitchen has been coming from(?) two days later!

  1. I didn't know clementines could become that color of crayon teal under ANY circumstance. :eggbug-nervous:
  2. MotherFUCKER all the food not in turbo-impermiable containers might be skunked. Even my tacos are tasting just the slightest bit weird, and that was meat/lettuce in sturdy plastic containers + tortillas in plastic bag. It can be replaced (and the fridge has been kind of comically empty-looking for a bit anyways) but ass dick. I wanted those leftovers and snacks.

  • upon being confronted with a bucket full of water, the first question is whether the water is going into the bucket or leaving the bucket. There's a lot of things that involve a bucket full of water. The answer to this question matters a lot.

The difference between referring to someone as "friend" versus "friendo" is that the sillyfication of the word reduces precision. A friend is my friend; a friendo is someone I feel at least casual positive feeling towards, but how do they feel about me? How tenuous is our relationship? Fuck if I know! 0 commitment, only silliness!
