This is painted with liquitex acrylic gouache which I've been playing with.

My process is probably a little messier than these paints were really intended for, as you can make big flat shapes with them, but I ended up needing to go over the white area with some normal acrylic to get rid of previous paw placements.

I've never been one to record my drawing sessions digitally because I thought it would seem strange to people how much I destroy while I hunt for the image I am making, but paint leaves the subtle ghost of it in ways that I cannot completely erase, and that is new and interesting to me.

It's so vibrant ❀️!! I don't know much about traditional painting but did you use a cool color for the darker line work? There's a contrast pop this painting has that makes it look like it's not all monotonously warm. Maybe that's my perception!!

Thank you!!

And you're right about the cool color: I had to buy another set of the paints after discovering the florescent set has no blue. Your perception is great! The cool tone comes across a bit more in person than it does in the photo.

As I do this, I feel like the digital painting experience is transferrable to traditional than I would have originally thought. Digital is just a new set of tools for an old set of problems. Theres some nuance to wrestling the physical properties of the paint itself, but it's rewarding to puzzle out.
