didn't want to put it so doomy gloomy in that post response but tl;dr everybody wants to be a cool internet star without putting in any of the work (into the art or into themselves) and without likely fucking up their future prospects by investing years into becoming artists.
they do not understand why artists like to make the art. they just see online engagement go brr and want to feel like they're somebody too but from the safety of no highly risky investment to be able to put out those images. content creation / endless productivity / infinite growth ftw.
where is the sincerity. where is the authenticity. where is the love.
