i know... i've always wanted one, i'm so happy to finally be able to take photos with that modern lo-fi aesthetic. ten megapixels ought to have been enough for anybody if you ask me!

see the funny thing about this conversation is that i made my joke in absolute full faith that you had not legitimately purchased a 40D for "the vibes" because it has none. the pictures do not look bad in any kind of interesting way. it is just old as fuck
no. there's absolutely no vibe to the 40D. it's like a DSLR, but worse. like with the early-2000s digital compact cameras that are becoming a thing again, at least those have bad lenses and significantly-more-awful sensors and that characteristic always-on flash that make them look awful in a sort of neat way you don't see anymore. the pictures from the 40D just look like you took a photo with something like that 5DS R and then opened and re-saved it as JPEG about five times
