several years ago i was working in a place that had a cafe that did a "caprese salad sandwich" and i was really jonesin' for one today so i figured it's probably not so hard to make one myself. turns out it wasn't
ciabatta, sliced tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil, salt and pepper, oregano, cover the whole thing in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. this one was almost too tall to eat comfortably but squeezed in just under the line
splendid~ only possible improvement I could see would be lightly toasting/grilling one side of the bread (the inside) after coating it in the olive oil :D
Mozz and basil is a winning combination all on its own. Now I need to make one of these...
Omnom. Caprese salad is like half my diet when tomatoes are in season (which is an unfortunately short season where I live).
Caprese are one of my favorite types of sandwiches omg. I try to make them whenever I get the chance. Thank you for sharing this!
i probably will over the next few days i bought a bunch of tomatoes
oh I've done those before, they rule I recommend trying it panini pressed as well
