i think its super cool how it doesn't work with any of my damn computers
(ok it works with the mothballed windows desktop but that machine is out of rotation for a reason so it might as well not work with any of them. im now reinstalling a different linux distro on my thinkpad because thats just how today is going apparently)
i found a 35mm negative scanner at good will and have had a horrible time getting it to work. it's supposed to run on windows xp-vista, so i've tried several VMs and every time theirs some different driver issue. I get why someone gave it to good will
normally i try very hard to avoid "stuff from 20 years ago that connects to a pc" for this exact reason but i suspect the output quality will be worth the hassle in this case. these nikon units don't fuck around
