this is a canon eos-1n RS. it’s like the normal eos-1n except it has a fixed, semi-transparent mirror and a permanently attached motor drive that lets it crank 10 FPS
also, on this one the motor drive isn’t permanently attached. more on that later maybe
i don't get it how can a plastic-era camera even have a distinct "motor drive," there weren't any with cranks
believe it or not, it pretty much works exactly the same as it does on manual-advance cameras. the motor in the camera can run the transport and shutter at about 3 FPS, and the motor drive unit has another, separate, more powerful motor that works with the one in the camera to let it go all the way up to 10
also fun fact this might be the first picture of the bottom plate / motor drive coupling of an eos-1n rs on the entire internet
