had a thought just now: i probably have enough 35mm cameras to do a multi-part "history of the 35mm format" sort of video essay with / about them

  • part 1: argus a (1936), leica iiic (1940, stand-in for models going back to around 1927), argus standard c3 (1958, stand-in for 1939's original c3)
  • part 2: pentax spotmatic (1964)
    • this camera is wildly important to the historical record and i can probably do twenty minutes about just it
  • part 3: canon a-1 (1978), canon t70 (1984)
  • part 4: canon eos-1n RS (1994), canon eos 5DS (2015)

arguably i'm missing, like, a '50s Kodak rangefinder and a '90s point and shoot but i think this gets a lot of the big picture stuff
