decided to enhance my code for adding trackpoint notches to 3D printed keycap models to support the true thinkpad stylings. instead of a sharp edge around the rim of the trackpoint cap, this lets you nestle the cap into the keycaps. the chamfer alerts you to the proximity of the rubber cap to avoid accidental taps when typing, but doesn't feel uncomfortable to touch.
keycaps are printed at 45° tilt with .05 mm layer height on a Prusa MK4. you can see the layer lines but they feel wonderfully smooth.
