I think I ran a PR 10K today at 53:50, and it’s thanks to the custom workout I created. You need to make the custom workout on your Apple Watch (no phone interface), and that is a big pain. However, being able to set intervals of “work” and “rest’ as reminders to myself that maybe I’ve slowed down long enough, so pick up the pace instead of strolling along are very helpful. Plus, they give me a foundation to start from and tweak, slowly lengthening my periods of work and reducing my periods of rest to keep pushing forward. Pretty excited about it.

My husband Tony is a chorus member for the San Diego Opera, and they’re putting on the world premiere of an opera called El último sueño de Frida y Diego. It’s centered on Day of the Dead, and it’s a fantastic piece of art.
