- Timing belt replaced! (And found the last person did it wrong! The alignment was off by a tooth!)
- Ignition timing tuned
- New crank pulley, crank saver installed
- Buncha rusty bits wired down and painted, and lots of cleaning under the hood!
- Probably some other bits I'm forgetting?
Still has a lotta stuff to do, but the engine feels a whole lot smoother now and it's real nice getting to drive my fun little car again! :3
From here, I gotta figure out what I can do to prepare for the fast approaching saline brutality of New England winters, while also hunting down a weak electrical system. Also gotta replace some accessory components, and I bought a new fuel filter just for fun.
If my alternator's going bad, I might consider replacing it with one for an RX-7. Apparently they're pretty much compatible with NA Miatas and deliver a lot more power, which might be some nice assurance if there's not much price difference otherwise!
