I'm going to paint over the same canvas over and over again until I have a fifty pound brick of pure fordite and maybe also I can learn some valuable lessons about art and impermanence along the way

There's a comfort to the nightly re-gessoing process that comes with this. gently applying another layer of white over the day's painting. A way of putting today away, and preparing yourself for the opportunities of tomorrow in its place.
There's also an interesting feeling to taking what you know will be the final ever photo of a painting.
