my favorite thing that silicon valley execs do is come up with some random bullshit that solves no problems and has no real world purpose other than to appeal to other silicon valley execs and both of them get paid $100000000000 a year to do this while the rest of us starve
what's the use case for this. when would i ever want to strap a huge fucking block to my head and blast Ten Billion Lights into my face and see the exact same thing that i could see without doing that. i can't even shoot a guy in the face with a comically large machine gun with this one
and there's not even going to be any porn!
okay hi it's below the cut wooby here to talk about this more. i do think this is a big issue, actually. it's talked about plenty elsewhere and im nowhere near educated enough on it to actually say anything meaningful here but the de-sexualization of the internet is Awful and now it's coming into the vr space? i mean it kind of already was but at least oculus let you hook your shit up to a computer with some fucking expensive cable and THEN you could watch a huge furry sit on your face but there's no cable here (besides the battery's cable, which i'm still laughing at). from what i saw in the ad the best you could do is load up some porno website and I Can Already Do That, so what's the point? this isn't a society-ending issue or anything but as more new tech things come out with increasingly locked down and monopolized app stores we'll start to see less and less expression of sexuality because investors don't like it and What's Good For The Company Is Good For Us All
