the concept of "hard light" is such a neat idea to me tbh. anytime a game (because it's almost always games for some reason) brings up the concept i can't stop pondering how it'd work

my headcanon is that they project a beam of light in the shape they want and then they use a nebulous process to give it mass OR they do something to the photon’s charge such that they repel differently charged particles.
it'd be kinda cool if they used polarized light to project out the sides of the object though, and then filled the interior with light... i guess it'd have to be an infinitely long beam of light though, or one that's very weak and fades away easily. maybe it'd be a cool design for a lighter or a flamethrower
