Gotta be bad at a thing before you can be good at a thing (this is the pain of getting good at things)
You gotta lower your standards for the stuff you draw. Maybe start doodling stupid things. I personally like drawing little people in textbooks that climb around on the text, and doodling on scrap paper and in the empty space on notes, maybe you can start with that? Opening a magma with some friends and doodling in it while in vc is also great because you're just being silly together
Same. I have been drawing for fun since I was a kid but Iāve never been able to stick with anatomy and other studying so I still canāt draw exactly what I want the way that I want.
I think this is a huge barrier that artists have to grapple with. They have to find something that is within their ability but still interesting so that they enjoy the process. But this is really hard because a lot of simple stuff is boring!
I have considered starting with just the head because I like to draw eyes, and just focus on that awhile.
Also drawing from life can also be helpful because you have a reference right in front of you but not everyone enjoys drawing from life so itās not a universal solution. I think at some level figuring out how to do not-fun stuff is needed at times but on the other hand itās so boring š±
