if there was some way we could capture the essence of eating a big mac or riding kingda ka or whatever, and store it as a digital file and distribute it over the internet, would there be DMCA takedowns over it? all music files are just digital approximations of physical air waves that a band produced one time, that are being imperfectly reproduced by devices we wear on our heads or place on our desks or whatever. yet if you download them without giving some faceless entity meaningless bytes of data representing some form of currency, they get all pissy at you and threaten to literally actually put you in jail. idk this isnt meant to be some kind of grand revelation or wake up call its just funny to me
