I think doing the most strict reading of my exact words would be "no, that's not working as a programmer", but "yes, that's professionally producing software (the students are producing the software)". so imo still a tech worker but a less traditional one (this is kind of why I split the question up)

that said, it sounds like exactly what people mean when they say they want more non-tech posts! I didn't even do any post-secondary education so to me it'd be a unique and interesting thing to read about~
