alright cool the mods at r/vita removed my post so i'll see if anyone here knows. i bought a ps vita that came with some custom software preinstalled, and the instructions sheet that the seller included said not to format it but i don't trust that personally. anyone know if it'll fuck things up if i do?

im not actually super familiar with vita modding in a technical aspect but with standard custom stuff i have formatted before and it was fine. i think if you want to bring it back to full stock the most you might need to do is uninstall the enso hack. just open the application, accept the terms and use triangle to remove the hack
if you have older firmware its also more practical to not update it at all because you can easily spoof newer versions, though its not like theres any sort of online play really anymore
also enjoy! the vita is still one of my favorite handhelds
(also im not sure if it may fuck up to just format. i feel like i did do that once though, enso is the most volatile part to be actually touching as its a custom firmware hack, past that most things never touch that low level, and enso fucking things up has the POSSIBILITY (ive never heard of it happening) to fuck up the device. (my guess is it touches some flash that does not handle many writes well) hopefully whoever your vita comes from hasnt deviated from this)
