We've seen AI bot start (poorly) impersonating valid user agents in an attempt to bypass blocks we've been setting up and tuning for months. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to file requests to entirely block chunks of IP space owned by Amazon and Microsoft because I'm not sure of any other way to prevent their impact.

They're effectively DoSing businesses for their data.

there's been an endless wave of scrapers from the hauwei cloud crawling all over the forum i run.

there's usually 20 or so of those scrapers at any given time, going through every link they find, across hundreds of ip addresses.

the board keeps daily stats, so you can see where the "views per day" goes from about 1,000 to 10,000+. and it has been going on for months, now, slowly ramping up.
