As far as I can tell, yes; beyond some silly 2009-tier videos at least. the site is down, no way to find any archives of it, and the most i've found was a revival attempt that was canned in april. sad ! I have such fond memories of this game, though- it was my first ever introduction to 'some people don't play as the gender they are in real life' lmao. love the internet
I didn't play it as much as I did other fangames at the time but I still thought it was really cool. Shame there's like nothing left of it now, I might just have to download some of those videos. If I'm remembering correctly, I think the engine wasn't original to Sonic Arena 2 but was rather an engine akin to RPGMaker but for small MMOs. I was very young when I played though, and I also played so many other online multiplayer games there's a solid chance I'm misremembering. Either way, wow, never thought I'd see another person who remembers this game! also lol, on the internet nobody knows your AGAB (or that you're a hedgehog)
Yes!! On my research it was made by something called the 'XTreme Worlds Engine,' which is an ancient thing that basically was made for making MMOs. It's so cool seeing people actually acknowledge this game exists- it's crazy. I thought I was insane for years before I actually found proof it existed.
Yeah that's the one!!! Holy shit I need to do some research of my own into XTreme Worlds, this takes me back. Move over, Unity..... I remember being seriously convinced I could make a successful MMORPG along the lines of World of Warcraft with this thing lmfao
