helo this is mostly personal stuffs, feel free to click the cookie run tags in my pinned to see all my delightful posts about a franchise i'm hyperfixated on

I have a timeline chart of events for this story, even if every single little minute detail is far from figured out. I have timeframes and locations and characters. My instinct is to always open up a new document and start from the beginning and write longform fiction, and then skip to writing the chapters I feel interested in writing at the time as ideas drift in and out. So I'm not pressured to write in order.

But I don't know if I feel like I want to do that. I could adapt this to any medium, but I can't think of any vision or mental idea of how I want to picture this. It always comes back to just longform writing. The thing I'm supposedly only good at. If I imagine a game/VN idea in my head, I will never have the ability to make what I'm picturing, and can't find a tool to use that speaks to me the way other tools have (maybe Logic/Garageband and Procreate set too high a bar on user-friendliness).

People say use asset packs or temp stuff, but I like after I do all that I then need hundreds of pieces of artwork I can't afford. Maybe I'll make a "VN" that's just an audiobook read by me with subtitles. I could probably get away with google maps street view bits photoshopped and blurred out for backgrounds.
