i think it's funny that "dreams where you're back in school" is such a common thing because while i DO occasionally have them, my apparently unique distinction from the typical cultural image, where you forgot to put on clothes or forgot you have a test and you have anxiety or whatever, is that not only am i back in school, but "school" is usually some sort of vast city of bronze and stone, long abandoned and clearly ancient, yet featuring curiously advanced machinery that allows one to ascend to the pinnacles of its towers and, in looking downward, take in the weblike turquoise veins of its waterways spreading out into an unthinkably distant horizon. and also a bunch of people i went to college with are there. usually the vibe is that we're on some sort of field trip

i was there once. i tried to get michael's attention, but he was busy pondering the labyrinthine walkways of the Fabricated City (for that is what it is called), so he didn't see me atop the Seventh Minaret of the South just across from him.

in reply to @austin's post:

I never had these school dreams in the school (they only started when I got work responsibilities). In the school instead I was usually travelling through city-wide labyrinth connecting to other strange realms or fighting robot invaders on hovering skateboards.
