how did i somehow only just realize now that asriel and chara are foils of each other. chara has an outer facade of being scary and violent but is also sweet and silly at their core, asriel has an outer facade of being sweet and silly and is at his core also capable of sadism, violence, and murder
thinking about this because i don't often see people recognize that asriel is flowey even now... asriel always had the potential to become That. he's still that even after he gets the souls and becomes asriel again. i don't think people really acknowledge that aspect of his character
