ISOLATED INCIDENT is a distant splinter off of HOMESTUCK's universe. As in; it takes a lot of Homestuck's ideas and concepts, but shifts them so deeply that they mean something entirely different in II's context. It remakes Homestuck's ideas, and elaborates upon them through an entirely different story with different intentions and elements.
ISOLATED INCIDENT is about freedom. That is honestly the easiest way in which I, as its author, can describe it. It is about the innate yearning for freedom, what freedom truly means, and what is necessary in order to achieve freedom. This directly leads to "freedom from what?". Freedom from societal pressure, freedom from predestined outcomes, freedom from self-hatred, freedom from oppression, so on and so forth...
Now, ISOLATED INCIDENT comes in 2 separate arcs. Arc 1 is about the in-universe conflict. Arc 2, to me, is far more meta and tackles ideas about how we perceive and digest media as a whole. I want to pick fiction apart and ask the reader how THEY relate to stories, what endings mean to THEM. But, I will refrain from talking about the second arc in any amount of detail YET. ACTs 1 to 5 are Arc 1, ACT 6 is the... Issue. And then ACTs 7 to 11 are Arc 2.
There will be 11 ACTs and 11 INTERMISSIONs.
ISOLATED INCIDENT's ACT 1 is on MSPFA, and ready to read after a glance at the preface and warning. ISOLATED INCIDENT's INTERMISSION 1, ACT 2, INTERMISSION 2 and part of ACT 3 are all written, but not on MSPFA. This is because ACT 1 is not yet fully panelled and I'd like to go gradually, and... Y'know, be a WEBCOMIC instead of a novel lmaoo
ACT 1 is 470 pages. If you're interested in ancestry, metaphors, lesbians, biblical things, dread and doom, I recommend it! You should go read it!!!!!!!
i recommend this mspfa!! even in its semi-unillustrated state it's real good
