world revoked is like beastars because there's mixed metaphors that don't exactly map one to one to real life but instead form a hybridity with different viewing angles that you can get out of it. and there's just insane worldbuilding details that were clearly included because the author just thought they were neat. and there's magic

microstates in world revoked are clays that are very small, about the size of humans, and resort to parasitism in order to get nutrients and calories. their GI tract is atrophied and only able to get electrolytes, water, and ethanol into them. instead of eating normally, they will instead rip out a vein and link up their own circulatory systems with a host clay. microstate parasites can also conduct more extreme forms of body modification if their host permits it, up to completely integrating themselves with their host's body. in some cases, microstates in an integrated state can fully pilot their host if their host is unconscious or braindead.
clays utilize humans in order to sustain themselves. they consume mass amounts of physical as well as ideological resources. clays also have clay specific fauna and flora, mostly in the form of giant microbes and parasites that live inside of them. including psychic tapeworms. there are giant fruits which are laden with neurotoxins for most mammals except for clays. clays will also eat gravel and cement for grist.
