hey this is a fucked up question but I'm genuinely curious

I'm pre-HRT transfem but my sister has POTS, actually. I don't have it. Did HRT exacerbate POTS/fatigue symptoms for you in any way? Will I too become a Salt Fiend?

it's pretty unclear if I have POTS specifically or just generic dysautonomia which is weird lol
I can trace back some random symptoms earlier in my life but it wasn't really bad until I got covid like 3 or 4 times -- even tho I've been on hrt since early 2020. so I'm gonna say HRT probably didn't make things worse for me

Interestingly enough, I have heard several people who had POTS before starting T say that their symptoms were less severe after starting HRT. I am not sure if it is the same for someone taking E, but POTS does seem to be more common in women.

Also @ anon, Most people I have met who have POTS had it come on after a Severe Sickness Event. I became very ill with some bug (before covid, it was actually worse than the times I had covid) and continued to remain ill for a long time afterwards (just like long covid). There are some hereditary conditions that can make you more predisposed to POTS, such as autism and hEDS. Funny enough after I realized I had all three, my mom kinda realized she did too.
I think a lot of this is more self reporting than actual science, since a lot of this stuff is understudied. so like take what I say with a grain of salt and not as real medical facts
