but three.js is uuuugly so far and I don't know how to make the lighting look better... anyone know about shaders or stuff I could ask about this?

the exact problem is that everything looks washed out, in the godot version all the lights' colors are really vibrant and that's not the case here for some reason

I copied over the exact same types of lights at the same colors positions angles and intensities and this is the best I can get after some fiddling around with it

I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact I'm using MeshStandardMaterial and that's just going to be ugly? idk

thanks for the link, this did help a bit but it's not moving the needle a ton

after messing around with threejs a bit more it sorta seems like godot's lighting engine is just a lot more intuitive to me and is just doing what I want out of the box so I may try to figure out another way around the problems I have and stick with godot

from what I can tell, it feels like the color of a directional light doesn't do very much, and the coverage of a point light is really bad

and then also point lights need their intensities up like a lot for some reason and also differently colored lights just mix awfully lol

it seems like threejs is chill if you need a scene to be generically lit and you have textures on all ur models
