i am in the same boat! just got my first credit card. my score is borderline non-existent because I have a solid 10 year streak of not spending money I don't have (except for my student loans, which I paid off early, and that's of course worse for credit than paying out every month for the rest of linear time), and Verizon Wireless punched me in the face once in 2018.
