the problem is that you can't use bitcoin or eth or w/e to pay your rent or buy your groceries, and the fluctuation of exchange value for Real Money makes it basically like gambling with your income. crypto would need to really undergo a huge fundamental overhaul in how it interacts with the world for it to be viable for artists and sex workers to live off of
Agreed. I'm not really advocating hopping on the crypto train. At least cash app has a feature that allows you to easily buy and sell btc though. If something robust enough came along, crypto might well be what takes hold on the pornosphere for better or worse. And I'd prefer that happening to the internet being scrubbed of nsfw.
yeah, i do feel you there. honestly ive wondered aloud about more or less the same thing before, specifically when etherium moved away from "burning as much electricity as possible for proof of work." it is really frustrating how conceptually a global online currency divorced from major payment processing entities would solve a lot right now, but everyone involved from the creators of the tech to the libertarian nerds to the speculative investors have done everything in their power to make it Suck Ass

Yeah like. I don't want it to be the answer, but with the way the pressure on payment processors isn't letting up and the way online social environment is becoming increasing hostile to any frank and sincere expression of adult sexuality... like it feels like one of the niche use cases crypto seems literally built for.
