On my 1440p display avatars are approximately 68x68 pixels. This is Too Small, and frankly we should be against Twitter's War Against Legible Avatars.
Something Awful by comparison allows 180x180 sized avatars, and they are works of art.
the smaller an avatar gets, the less I'm able to recognize people by their avatars. and because i have a hard time with names this makes sites just feel more anonymous
1440p? no wonder you're having issues, that's way too big. i recommend a nice 1280x1024
i second both of these, especially with the shape frames the icons tend to end up even smaller looking than on tumblr. might be something that can be fixed with userstyles but i like the idea of the more forum-y vibe bigger icons might give
It's weird, too, that the replies show off bigger icons than the main feed.
