creating things is hard, so if taking your inspiration from incredibly well known, established things helps you with getting your own stuff off the ground, go for it!
You're still the person making something new! It's still going to be different and who knows what it's going to end up being.
Also, for other folks: If you want to know where people draw their inspiration from when they're making things, don't judge those that tell you, just because maybe you don't like where they got their ideas from. That's how you get people who are too scared to talk about their interests.
In the end, creating something isn't like a pot of soup where you pour inspiration in, stir it a bunch and then get a perfect mixture of whatever you put into. It's a starting off point, it's a way for folks to define their own boundaries in which they want to operate in.
