It's been surprisingly difficult to keep this up. Two days have passed now where I haven't had time to work on Sunsear 1.0. Solving some tough technical problems at work has messed with my schedule a bit.
Here's hoping for tomorrow. Those pick-up item stats aren't gonna write themselves.
I dove into this newish Unity feature for Sunsear 1.0. With the project being moved from 2018.4 to 2021.3, there's a healthy amount of new things to try.
I'm a fan how this simplifies data oriented objects. Implementing systems for weapons, ships, and power ups will make this a lot more fun compared to using Monobehaviours everywhere.
You know. Where the enemies drop a bunch of coins/jewels/whatever and your player ship collects them. Implementing how they move to the player ship when it gets close was an interesting challenge because I have no idea how particle systems work intuitively. Unity's Shuriken system has a lot of hidden features.

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm so glad i opted for the asset store this time to build my mobile game menus with. I basically have the data privacy screen to test and then the accessibility options to add. I'm hoping i can confirm that list of options tonight.
