It's only a tiny improvement, but the holocene calendar would be one (single) step in the right direction imo. Still christocentric bias but. yknow. closer to the entire range of human existence
I've had my own ill feelings about the Gregorian calendar. it feels like a rigid Roman straitjacket or something. replacing it would be like casting off centuries-old shackles. but do you have ideas about what would be better? I suppose I could adopt the Muslim calendar ~Chara
I want one of those calendars that puts a few buffer days at the end of the year (like leap days etc) that are basically ignored for most purposes, so that all months can be the same length and always start on the same week day. This can be in addition to other changes.
First off, we should set the start of the year to the winter solstice
Next, the French had the right idea with 12 30-day months and five or six extra days at the end of the year
A week wherein nothing but like emergency services are available because the cultural expectation is for everyone to just chill!
Yes!
Plus maybe some grocery or meal delivery for the people who lack the executive function/freezer space to plan and shop for a whole week of meals in advance
put the start of the year at the spring solstice! why have the majority of winter come at the start of the year?
