I love these moths. My husband does too ... notably because it's kind of wild that hummingbirds (the actual birds) became so bug niche-wise that it's actually easy to mistake the birds for the moths and vice versa at a glance (they don't have overlapping ranges, so its more of an instinctual gut-feel of !!Hummingbird! rather than a real confusion)

Sphinx moths in general can be easy to mistake for hummingbirds, there’s overlap of both where I live and my parents thought a sphinx moth was a baby hummingbird before I corrected them lol
