In which everyone's into luxury jewelry all of a sudden. Nanami episodes are interesting because she's sorta comic relief, and ridiculous things happen to her, but she gives it a darker dynamic then comic relief-focused episodes would have in most shows.

Apparently she still has those three guy suitors despite what happened last episode they were in. I guess that's just how minions work.

Can she just not get the cowbell off? Even if you like it, it seems not comfortable to sleep in.

So much buildup to this becoming cow-like thing!

Is Anthy not wanting to sleep related to the stuff with her brother?

The shadow play is basically saying that Nanami is getting what she deserves since she was so conniving? But it's not really clear how this relates to anything she's done recently.

The previous Nanami-focused episode with out-of-place magic proved to be Anthy's fault, and here Anthy's revealed to be responsible at the end as well. Is there something in particular that makes Nanami get the brunt of Anthy's magic? Actually, there was that other episode early on that gave Nanami and Anthy parallel relationships with animals, with snails and that giant octopus or whatever. So it does seem like there's some mirroring going on, but I'm not sure what the significance of that is. It almost creates the sense that Anthy is retroactively/Bleakly undermining what Nanami has going on, but I'm not sure why specifically.

The cowbell does function like a rose in a duel, but this episode seems not to be Black Rose-related at all.

Next episode seems like a return to form, though.
